Her name is Lola, and she's a show girl. She's also growing like a weed (see earlier post for purposes of comparison).

Here's the latest addition to the family, and her previous guardian.

Here are more photos of the big day:

We haven't figured out her name yet. Current potentials include Roxy, Mango, Cashew, and Wilco. Your ideas/votes are invited!

P.S. She is sitting on my feet as I write this, which is very cute. But just so you don't get too carried away by how cute she is, I want you all to know that she puked all over the inside of my truck yesterday, which was less cute.

i think i'll tell you about last weekend...

last saturday i figured that just because i'm alone here in paradise doesn't mean i should sit around sweating and complaining. i worked all day on saturday, so i felt entitled to blow sunday off. so i went diving (just me and the guide- first time with no Liz). first we went to a wreck called King Kruiser (it's probably Cruiser, but i can't resist kalling it King Kruiser- this really is a photo of it as it was sinking back, i think, in 1994. nobody drowned. and this really is a photo of it now, in Davey Jones' locker.) , and on a reef called Shark Point (there weren't any sharks there that looked like this, but you get the point), and next to an island called Koh Dokmai (you linguists know that this means "Flower Island") . I saw some incredible stuff: a leopard shark , some sea horses , an ornate ghost pipefish , a clown anglerfish (so weird), and many tourists . i wish some of you could have been there. and NO, i didn't take any of these pictures myself.
lots of love,

pedro "jacques cousteau" kirkwood
